A Worldview of The Mars

Since the past, there have been many science-fiction novels about a human migration to Mars within our solar system other than the Earth. And Tesla CEO Elon Musk is already carrying out a massive migration project for mankind to Mars. When people think about Mars, they think of unknown, pioneering and challenges in general. In that sense, "The Mars" platform has set the stage on the Mars background, and it is also meant to experience the Mars in advance through the platform even though the planet is far away in outer space, In addition, the small city called Colony that can only exist in the Mars universe, it is the most important part of the project.
The Mars has been designed not to be stereotypical images such as dry and bleak, it is portrayed as a somewhat bright like Utopia and Fantasia, where anyone can make their dreams come true.

Colony's Uniqueness

Overview

Size and Shape: A concentric circle with a diameter of about 1km. Quantity: Add'l generated depending on the population density from about a colony per territory in the initial stage. Population Density: 100,000 to 1 million per Colony.

Description

In the metaverse platform of "The Mars", there is a city model called 'Colony' as a differentiating factor from many platforms or games that are oriented towards the metaverse. In general, the real-estate on existing metaverse platforms is designed as the major income of the platform, and users have to sell as much land as possible to get money. As a result, the size of the land continues to expand in a two-dimensional form, or the land is sold excessively compared to the number of users. Eventually, the land becomes useless. The above case is a problem experienced by most metaverse platforms with the real-estate system. Therefore, "The Mars" suggests the Colony as a solution to this problem.
The Colony in The Mars has the shape of a concentric circle and is a small city with a diameter of about 1km in reality. An initial colony exists for each territory. It is also possible to move between Colonies and make transfers to other Colonies. There are 100,000 to 1 million users per Colony, and most of the land in the Colony can be purchased and owned by the users. After owing the land of the Colony, users can build a house or a commercial building, and users can connect their private space (#ID) or commercial space (#ID) to the building directly.
Unless the number of users in the Colony reaches a certain level, a space of the Colony should not be expanded and lands will not be opened (Distributed) to optimize the gameplay and user interactions.
Hobbies, sports, marketplaces and performance venues that users can use, are in each Colony. Among them, the sports stadium and the concert hall are available for joining all together regardless of the Colony.
If the acceptance limit of the density of the initial Colony is exceeded, a second Colony in the territory will be generated. The second Colony can be given an additional benefit for rapid development.
Users are placed in the most dense environment but they do not feel stuffy. Such the environment leads to natural interaction and communication between users like the real life, and create a social phenomenon. However, in order to solve the technical problems that may occur due to the feature of the Colony, "The Mars" uses an additional function called channeling. The channeling is the way to divide the Colony into multiple channels and separates the space according to the increase in the number of users (approx. 500~1000 per space). By using this technique, it is possible to maximize the number of floating users at a specific location for increasing building's value and encouraging all buildings to be active.
"The Mars" believes that these interactions are the most important of the metaverse platform. It is quite an essential activity to develop the space of Colony through continuous monitoring so that social phenomena can occur well.

Land & Building

Users can own land(s) in the Colony of The Mars.
Because the Colony is small and finite, the total number of lands in the Colony isn't enough and owing lands is difficult. Depending on the number of users in the colony, limited lands will expand each step (i.e. 1,2 and 3). Users can own their land through an auction or lottery system.
A purchased land can be owned forever on the platform of The Mars by issuing NFT, or can be traded with others through auctions such as Opensea.
Land has the following grades according to its purpose and size, and the distribution for each grade is as below.
Standard 40%, Deluxe 25%, Special 15%, Rare 10%, Epic 10%, Legendary - Undefined
*Depends on the development of Colony, Epic might be graded as the Legendary
Once the land is bought, users can build a building on the land. It automatically gives another virtual space, if users want to, they can connect to the existing house when entering the building. The new virtual space can only be accessed by a specific address like an ID.
※ The land type of the Colony above is an example. A location and size of each type may change depending on the actual Colony design.

Land Lottery (Pre-sale)

Land is sold at a set price for each initial grade, and "Phobos Token", a governance token in the platform of The Mars, is required to participate in the pre-sale. Plus, 1/10 of the sale price must be deposited. In order to participate in the land lottery with Phobos Token, the amount of Phobos Token the user participates in is locked-up and cannot be used anywhere else until the lottery is over. If the Phobos Token is burned and removed, the user's chance of winning can be increased by securing a stake equivalent to 10 times the number of used Phobos Token. Burned tokens will not be restored.

Once the user wins the land lottery, must pay the balance of the sales price within 1 day of the actual time. If not, the winning chance would be transferred to other applicants. (Used Phobos tokens will be unlocked if not burned.)
If the user won the lottery but does not have enough money to pay, the user can pay out the outstanding balance through a loan from DeFi, a bank of The Mars.

Transcend Time and Space

Although the space of the Colony is finite and highly dense, there is space that transcends time and space in The Mars to take advantage of the Characteristics of the metaverse platform.
The building is connected to an internal space, and the size of this space has nothing to do with the external appearance of the building.
Users may enter a small cabin but have a large space like a palace inside, or users may enter a large building but have a small space inside.
And users can travel to colonies of other territories as well as their own countries' colonies like we are travelling abroad.
In The Mars, there is a private space called "My Home", which is one of the most important core contents. This space is given to everyone, and users can decorate the space according to their taste.
Users can also invite other users to talk or play music and enjoy a party.
"My House" doesn't exist in the Colony, but it has users' ID in the same format as #ID, so it makes users can go to their friends' home by entering their ID or clicking the button of "visit a friend's house' UX/UI.
In case of preventing other users' entering without permission, users can select options "Friend only", "Visit after approval" or "Refuse to visit" for their privacy.
